Ride + Stride 2020
Despite Coronavirus restrictions the annual Ride + Stride for Churches and Chapels organised by the Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust (Registered Charity 233476) is going ahead this year (its 31st) on Saturday 12th September.
The money raised by this sponsored event goes to repair and maintain facilities at Leicestershire churches (historic or not) and churches can apply for grants towards alarm systems, toilet or kitchen renovations as well as for repairs to roofs or historic windows.
Each participant raises sponsorship which is sent to the trust who retain 50% towards the future grants offered and return 50% to the sponsored church for there general funds.
We are opening again this year to welcome visitors for the Ride & Stride on Saturday 12th September.
Thank you to the Council Members who've agreed to man the church between 10am and 2pm. Only one person is required to welcome this year as we will not be offering refreshments (although we have been asked to allow water bottles to be filled up if required).
I will be opening our church and at 11am after handing over to the next welcomer, I will be walking to as many churches as I can.
A sponsorship form will be placed at the back of the church for those who would like to sponsor me or leave a donation. Half of all monies raised come back to our Church. You can also visit my Just Giving page if you prefer:
The church will be a safe place for visitors as they all have to provide their own pens as well as refreshments and will be required to wear a mask and sanitise before signing the register.
