Sunday refreshments in aid of Smile Train

From November 7th we will once again be serving teas and coffees after the Sunday morning service, we hope everyone will stay for this short time of fellowship together.

To volunteer to help prepare and serve the refreshments please sign up on the sheet by the kitchen.

Our November charity is Smile Train and in lieu of holding a coffee morning (which have not been well supported recently) we have decided to ask for donations every Sunday morning instead. Throughout November there will be a box at the kitchen serving window where donations can be placed. Thanking you in advance for your support for this marvelous charity.

Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. Many children with untreated clefts around the world live in isolation, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. Cleft treatment is safe, and the impact on the child is immediate.

Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft-focused organisation, with a sustainable and local model of supporting surgery and other forms of essential care. Over the last 20+ years, we have supported safe and quality cleft care for 1.5+ million children and will continue to do so until every child in need with a cleft has access to the care they deserve.

Join us and change the world one smile at a time.

Smile Train’s medical partners provide 100 %-free surgeries and comprehensive cleft care to children around the world. Smile Train’s “teach a man to fish" model empowers local medical professionals to provide cleft treatment in their own communities. Smile Train promises to maximise the generous support of our donors by keeping programmes safe, sustainable, and efficient. Children with clefts need more than just surgery. They may also need nutrition services, emotional support, dental care, orthodontic treatment, and speech therapy.
