Summer Praise Service 18th August
Our Summer Songs of Praise evening was preceded by a faith tea at 5pm on 18th August.
23 members and friends sat down to enjoy a lovely spread and chat together after saying Grace. Lovely sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and even trifle were in abundance!
Gavin led the service with Sue leading the music and playing both the Organ and the Piano. A total of 11 hymns were sung, some were favourites chosen by members of the congregation and they introduced each hymn. Two new hymns were included; "Open My Eyes That I May See" was introduced by Gavin and the other "Shout for Joy and Sing" was introduced and sung by Sue as a solo.
Ernest played Panis Angelicus on his steel pan accompanied by Sue on the piano, he also later sang a solo "How Great Thou Art"
Due to the thirsty nature of the number of hymns, the service was followed by plenty of tea and coffee and the left over food.
Thank you to Gavin and Mary for organising the service and arranging the catering. A very successful event was enjoyed by all and hopefully will be repeated in the future.
